Liz and Ryan Pryor Good Luck ! And "Thanks" for everything
From everyone at St Helens RGC
The end of another year but what a successful one it has been. There have been many highlights. Our first International Club Tournament, 4 girls in National Squads, success in Duets and Trios and Individual Competitions, Charlotte winning the Grade 7 final, Elaine Kibble being awarded Merseyside Young Sports Person of the Year to name a but a few. At the British Championships last weekend Elaine finished 3rd overall and won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in the finals. Natalie, Jade and Aimee all made finals and were a credit to the club.
Perhaps the most significant achievement was the success of Elaine as a member of the English Team who represented England at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia earlier this month. The team won Gold in the Rhythmics and overall Team gold with the Girls and Boys Artistic Teams but best of all Elaine won an individual gold for her Rope routine and is now the Commonwealth Youth Games Rope Champion. A magnificent achievement.
HOWEVER, none of the above success would have been possible without the coaching skills of our Senior Coach, Liz Pryor. Liz has a full time teaching job and a young daughter, Alexis, but for many years has still given her time to coach our competitive gymnasts to reach the high standard that is demanded of them to achieve success nationally. There are not many clubs in the country who have so many talented gymnasts and it is the expertise of Liz that has largely contributed to their success.
UNFORTUNATELY and regretfully we now have to say goodbye to Liz, Alexis and Ryan as they are leaving St. Helens in the new year to live in Florida. We shall miss her and her coaching expertise greatly but we wish her all the best for her new life and will look forward to her visits ‘back home’.
Tonight is the last session before Christmas. We return on Tuesday 4th / Wednesday 5th January 2005
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
Thank you for all your support.
